Course of action

I joined the White Rose Society believing it was different, and I still want to believe that. I want to believe that the other members want to advance the Dream through progress and science, that we can join together to rebuild the Nation and advance humanity.

But Vikarion doesn’t seem to want that. He’s hell-bent on warfare, whether against other podders or just the Angels. Why can’t they see we can do more than that? Why can’t we start building something real that will do some real good, not just blow other things up? That’s a real challenge, I know, and frankly I haven’t figured out yet what that would actually include. But I really want us to start trying to make things better instead of just these endless wars.

Daddy didn’t really believe I’d ever get anywhere with my dreams of revolution through science, and some days I agree with him. But not every day. I have to keep trying. The White Rose Society will hopefully come around, but even if they don’t, that won’t mean I give up on my dream.

The other day, Lycana had me decrypt some data for her. It really didn’t take much, just some old Amarrian ciphers that had some implementation weaknesses (somebody should explain to those zealots someday how qubits actually work), but it looked like security plans for various Amarrian facilities. She can help me in my data quest, but first she’ll need to understand and agree to the idea. She talks about personal security, dirtside combat, and all sorts of things way outside my expertise. I need to surround myself with people like her so I can do the things only I can do.

So I don’t know what course of action I’ll follow in the end. Maybe the WRS can help me build the future and maybe they won’t. I know I can’t do it on my own. We have to join together to make this happen, and I can’t walk away every time somebody doesn’t agree with me right away.

But that doesn’t change my frustration!
